WOODZ (조승연) is a South Korean singer-songwriter, dancer, and record producer, a member of UNIQ, and a former member of Produce X 101’s X1. He debuted solo on July 29th, 2016 with the single “Recipe” under his old solo stage name, Luizy. He began going by WOODZ in 2018.
2019: Produce X 101 and X1
– In 2019, he participated in Mnet’s boy group survival show Produce X 101. He finished in fifth place, thus becoming a member of X1.[1] The group officially debuted on August 27, 2019 with the mini-album, 비상 : Quantum Leap. Due to a vote manipulation controversy involving multiple Mnet franchises including Produce X 101, the group ultimately disbanded on January 6, 2020.
2020: Return to solo activities
– On June 29, 2020, WOODZ released his first mini-album Equal with the title track “Love Me Harder” (파랗게).
– On November 17, 2020, He made a comeback with his second mini-album Woops! and “Bump Bump” serving as the album’s title track.
2021:
– WOODZ returned with his new single album Set on March 15, 2021, with mini-album “Only Lovers Left” with the double title tracks “Kiss of Fire” and “Waiting”.
