TREASURE (트레저) [formerly known as Treasure 13 (트레저13)] is a 12-member boy group from YG Entertainment. TREASURE consists of Hyunsuk, Jihoon, Yoshinori, Junkyu, Mashiho, Jaehyuk , Asahi, Yedam, Haruto, Doyoung, Jeongwoo and Junghwan through the program ‘YG Treasure Box’. They will make their debut on August 7, 2020 with their first single album “The First Step : Chapter One“. They were originally scheduled to debut sometime between May and July 2019 but it was postponed. YG stated, “TREASURE is planning to release new songs 3~4 times until the end of the year, after making debut in July”. They explained, “It’s a similar promotion method of how BIGBANG released single albums every month when they first made debut back in 2006”.
2020:
– On September 1, YGE released a coming soon poster for the group’s first comeback release. On the midnight of September 7, it was announced that TREASURE would be releasing their second single album, “The First Step : Chapter Two”, on September 18.
– On October 12, through its website “YG LIFE”, YG Entertainment reported that the group was preparing for their next single album “The First Step : Chapter Three” and also reported that there was a plan for the release of their first full album in the beginning of December. On October 26, YG Entertainment confirmed that the group will release their third single album on November 6.
2021:
– The group will release their first full-length album titled The First Step: Treasure Effect and its lead single “My Treasure” on January 11, 2021.
2022: The Second Step : Chapter One, Chapter Two
– On January 11, an intro video was revealed through the group’s social media, in which it was revealed that TREASURE would release their first mini-album titled The Second Step : Chapter One on February 15.
– On February 4, YG Entertainment announced that TREASURE’s Japanese mini album The Second Step : Chapter One would be released on March 23.
– In May 2022, YG Entertainment announced bandmates Bang Yedam and Mashiho would ensue on a break from group activities to pursue extended studies in music and recuperate in health respectively. The band decided to continue as ten until year end.
– On September 1st, YG Entertainment announced Treasure will release it’s second mini-album, The Second Step: Chapter Two which will be released on October 4th.
