JEON SOMI (전소미 [ko]; チョン・ソミ [ja]; also known by Somi) is a Canadian-Korean solo singer and songwriter currently under The Black Label. She is known for finishing first in Mnet’s survival reality program Produce 101 and debuting in former girl group I.O.I. . She made her solo debut on June 13, 2019, with the digital single “Birthday”. On July 14, The label was confirmed that Somi will make her comeback on July 22 with a new song, titled “What You Waiting For”. On July 20, in conjunction with the release of “What You Waiting For”, Jeon signed with Interscope Records, in a partnership with The Black Label; she will be represented alongside Universal Music Group for promotions outside of Asia.

2018 – 2020:
– On August 20, 2018, it was announced that Somi left JYP Entertainment,[3] and confirmed to have joined YG Entertainment’s sub-label The Black Label on September 23, 2018.
– On June 13, 2019 , Somi debuted as a soloist with the digital single album “Birthday”.
– On March 28, 2020, Somi’s first solo reality series titled I Am Somi began airing on The Black Label’s YouTube channel.
– On July 14, she announced she would be making a comeback with a single titled “What You Waiting For”.

2021: Dumb Dumb & XOXO
– On July 22, she announced the release of her single “Dumb Dumb”
– On October 14, 2021, The Black Label confirmed that Jeon would release her first full-length album XOXO on October 29

2023: Game Plan
– On July 24, The Black Label announced that Somi will be releasing her first mini-album titled, Game Plan, on August 7.
